Football on Our Mind: Inspiring Books Rooted in the Seattle Seahawks Experience
/It’s Super Bowl week! The Seattle Seahawks are back on the biggest stage in football this Sunday, and the energy around our region is unmistakable. Jerseys are out (including mine!), most conversations end with ‘Go Hawks!,” and Seahawks fans, young and old are getting ready for the big game this Sunday.
As a Seattle-area publishing company, we’re excited to support our hometown team—and this Super Bowl run also gives us a great reason to highlight a few football-related books we’ve been proud to help publish, including two by former Seattle Seahawks players.
These authors know firsthand what it takes to compete at the highest level of professional football:
Becoming, by Clint Gresham, offers an honest look at life in the NFL beyond the highlights and stat lines. Gresham shares what it takes to earn a roster spot, deal with setbacks, and keep growing when football doesn’t go exactly as planned. It’s a compelling read for Seahawks fans, football fans, and anyone interested in perseverance and personal growth.
Facing the Blitz, by former Seahawks quarterback Jeff Kemp, focuses on leadership and decision-making under pressure. Drawing from his NFL career and life beyond football, Kemp explores how to stay grounded and lead well when things move fast and stakes are high. While rooted in football, the lessons apply far beyond the field.
Competition, Character, and Leadership Beyond the Game
Rounding out this group of football books is Competing Biblically, by Tim Kuykendall. Instead of focusing on a single player’s story, this book takes a broader look at competition itself—how athletes, coaches, and leaders approach winning, success, and integrity. Using sports as a framework, Kuykendall challenges readers to think deeply about character and purpose in competitive environments.
Celebrating This Super Bowl
We’ve been especially honored to work with these authors—men who have lived the football life so many fans love to follow. Helping bring Becoming and Facing the Blitz into the world, written by former Seahawks players Clint Gresham and Jeff Kemp, has been a privilege. Adding Tim Kuykendall’s Competing Biblically completes a set of books that explore competition, leadership, faith, and grit from different angles.
With the Seattle Seahawks heading into the Super Bowl this Sunday, it feels like the perfect moment to bring these football books back into the spotlight and celebrate the authors behind them. If you’re looking for a football-related book during Super Bowl week—or anytime—these three titles offer thoughtful insight into the game, leadership, and life beyond the final score.
However you’re spending Super Bowl Sunday, we’re grateful to celebrate football, Seattle, and these stories with you~
Go Hawks! 🏈💙💚
